Marketing Coordinator

At SMS Equipment, we’re looking for a Marketing Coordinator who’s ready to take on a variety of marketing challenges. In this role, you'll manage projects across branding, events, promotional items, and digital marketing. It’s a dynamic position that requires a versatile, creative, and resourceful individual who excels in a team environment and is confident in taking ownership of tasks. The salary for this position ranges from $48,000 to $58,000.

This is a temporary role for 8 - 12 month contract.

What you’ll be doing:

• Own the corporate promotional item program: Be the primary point of contact for vendors, overseeing inventory for the online store, and making decisions on restocking or adding new items. You’ll also manage the promotional storage room to ensure everything is organized and ready for upcoming projects.
• Event coordination: From trade shows and corporate meetings to sponsorship activations and webinars, you’ll oversee all aspects of event logistics. This includes managing vendors, sourcing venues, handling AV needs, and ensuring each event runs smoothly. You’ll take the lead on rodeo sponsorships across Western Canada, managing deliverables and providing on-site support.
• Support production and design: Whether it’s local ads, promotional materials, social media posts, or event support, you’ll coordinate it all. Work closely with photographers, videographers, and vendors to create campaign assets and assist with campaign execution alongside the digital marketing team.
• Maintain corporate materials: Update and manage PowerPoint decks, brochures, and the internal marketing intranet page. You’ll also handle the ordering process for annual calendars and holiday cards, maintain branch maps, and ensure SharePoint is consistently updated.

Who we’re looking for:

You have at least 1 year of experience in marketing, event coordination, or administration. Experience through internships and university co-op terms in a professional setting will also be considered. Additional qualifications include:

• Highly motivated, exceptionally organized, and have a sharp eye for detail, always delivering high-quality work on time and within budget.
• Excel both independently and as part of a team, with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
• Have excellent time management skills, prioritize tasks effectively, and consistently meet deadlines.
• Thrive in challenging situations, using your problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities to overcome obstacles with a positive outlook.
• Always looking for ways to improve processes and bring fresh ideas to the table.
• Have a growth mindset and a passion for marketing, constantly learning and seeking feedback to improve your skills.
• Communicate clearly and professionally, both in writing and in person.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams, and Outlook, with a basic understanding of marketing principles across digital and traditional channels.
• Familiarity with CRM, SharePoint, HubSpot, and project management tools is a bonus.
• Have a valid driver’s license and are available for on-site event activations.
