Job Description

Fairmont Banff Springs is seeking a dynamic and organized Royal Service Assistant Manager to lead our Switchboard team. In this role, you will oversee daily operations, manage guest communications, drive service excellence, and support team development. With a strong focus on guest recovery, performance management, and operational efficiency, you will play a key role in enhancing the guest experience. Competitive Salary: $64,000 - $65,000 gross annually, based on previous experience & education.

What you will be doing:

  • Oversee the Royal Service team, including switchboard operations, dining reservations, guest pre-registration, recruitment, and development.
  • Act as a Guest Recovery specialist, track and communicate guest issues using tools like Royal Service Manager, Kipsu, VOG, Alice, and Avaya.
  • Monitor team performance through coaching and counseling, drive room up-selling, and maximize loyalty program enrollments.
  • Plan labor standards, create and implement innovative procedures, and coordinate effective scheduling to meet business needs.
  • Ensure guest and colleague safety by enforcing health and safety policies and supporting emergency procedures alongside Security and Crisis Committees.

Qualifications

Your experience and skills include:

  • High School diploma required and Hospitality Management Certificate/Degree an asset
  • Previous leadership experience in a similar capacity required
  • Excellent knowledge of Micros-Opera PROPERTY Manager, Symposium (CCM), Royal Service Manager, Open Table and Microsoft Office applications are a definite asset
  • Dynamic, enthusiastic, creative, flexible leader who thrives under pressure and is able to perform multiple functions at the same time
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Proven leadership skills which supports an environment of employee growth and development, interdepartmental teamwork and exceptional customer service
