What can you expect?

The Warehouse Assistant Manager supports the Warehouse Department in delivering an exceptional guest experience. This position involves placing product orders with vendors, maintaining cleanliness in public areas, transporting goods to various locations on the mountain, and addressing guest inquiries. The role is physically demanding, involving manual labor, lifting, and carrying. The Warehouse Assistant Manager reports to the Warehouse Manager and coordinates daily operations with other departments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide excellent guest service at all times.
  • Place product orders for F&B stock with external vendors (GFS, Liquor Connect, Coke, etc.).
  • Assist the Manager in scheduling warehouse staff.
  • Review and approve daily timecards and confirm schedules.
  • Communicate safety concerns and attend monthly safety meetings.
  • Supervise the warehouse team during daily operations.
  • Maintain a safe work environment and regularly review safety practices with staff.
  • Ensure cleanliness of public spaces, including snow/ice removal, garbage, and recycling.
  • Address guest questions related to the mountain and F&B operations.
  • Fulfill and deliver product orders from outlets in a timely manner.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Administrative and Reporting Responsibilities:

  • Complete documentation, such as inventory counts, daily logs, and maintenance reports.
  • Communicate any operational, mechanical, or environmental issues.
  • Follow company policies, safety procedures, and relevant regulations, including OHS standards.
  • Timely and accurate reporting of incidents, deficiencies, and any unusual conditions to the appropriate personnel.

Other duties may be requested and assigned from time to time.

Requirements

  • Must be 21+ yrs with a valid drivers license and a clean drivers abstract (last 3yrs).
  • Previous experience in a warehouse or stockroom environment.
  • Trade skills (e.g., mechanical, electrical, carpentry) are an asset.
  • Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Energetic, self-motivated, and positive attitude.
  • Strong time management, problem-solving, and teamwork skills.
  • Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to maintain professional conduct while in uniform, both on- and off-duty.
  • Computer skills, including Microsoft Suite, are an asset.
  • Ability to work flexible schedules, including weekends, holidays, nights, and extended hours.

Additional Considerations

  • The role requires manual labor, including frequent lifting (up to 25kg), pushing/pulling (up to 45kg), and working at heights up to 15 meters.
  • Regular climbing of ladders and stairs, as well as hiking in alpine environments, is required.
  • The Warehouse Assistant Manager will work with machinery, off-road vehicles, snowmobiles, and specialized tools, with exposure to moving equipment and industrial chemicals (e.g., solvents, oils, paints).
  • CSA-approved safety footwear is required, and uniform pieces (jacket, pants, toque/hat, etc.) are provided.
  • Employees must maintain good judgment, be fit for duty, and provide their own transportation to the resort when necessary.
