Line / Prep Cook (Wintergreen Golf & Country Club)

Our guests at Wintergreen are repeat customers because of the amazing food you are able execute at a professional and passionate level. You take pride in your work and providing our guests and members with the best possible vacation and recreational experience possible.

You Will:

• Prepare menu items for the Club House Lounge, Banquet Room and Halfway House according to recipes, plate presentations and specifications.
• Multi-task: employees will be called upon to perform any and all kitchen duties as deemed necessary. This includes prep work, cleaning, dish-washing, shipping / receiving and other kitchen-related tasks.
• Place food orders and be responsible for assisting with inventory control.
• Practice sanitary and safe food handling at all times. Clean and sanitize the work area before, during and after every shift.
• Be responsible for the general organization and cleanliness of the kitchen.
• Work with specialized cooking equipment (deep fryer, grill, etc.).
• Complete our Health and Safety training requirements and follow safe operating procedures to a T!

You:

• Work great in a team and have the ability to provide assistance to co-workers when able to do so.
• Minimum 1 year of experience cooking in a professional atmosphere.
• Have excellent communication skills.
• Have the ability to work independently and with minimal supervision.
• Are able to stand for long periods of time, work well under pressure and in a fast paced environment.
• Possess a valid Canadian Work Permit.

Position Details:

• Full time and part time positions available.

• Hours are variable and dependent on tee times as well as weather. Weekend hours are a must as this is when our golf course is the busiest!

• This is a seasonal position from May until mid-October (golf season).
