THE POSITION

The Concessions Scheduler is responsible for creating and managing the schedule for staff working in concessions areas at Saddledome and McMahon Stadium. This role ensures that there are adequate staff members available to provide excellent service and manage operations smoothly. The Scheduler works closely with the concessions management team to optimize staffing levels, address scheduling conflicts, and support the overall success of concessions operations.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Develop and maintain an efficient staff schedule for concessions operations based on event schedules, peak times, and staffing needs.
  • Coordinate with management to determine staffing requirements for each event.
  • Adjust schedules as needed to accommodate changes in event schedules, staff availability, and other unforeseen circumstances. Monitoring and keeping on top of scheduling email.
  • Communicate with concessions staff to confirm shift times, availability, and any changes in scheduling.
  • Address any scheduling conflicts or issues, ensuring that all shifts are covered and that the schedule is fair and balanced.
  • Ensure that all scheduling practices comply with labor laws, regulations, and company policies.
  • Assist with onboarding and training new staff to ensure they are prepared for their shifts and understand their responsibilities.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for staff regarding scheduling questions, changes, or concerns.
  • Maintain clear and open lines of communication with the concessions management team to keep them informed of staffing levels and any scheduling issues.
  • Address any issues related to staffing or scheduling promptly and effectively.
  • Develop and implement solutions to improve scheduling efficiency and staff satisfaction.
  • Track and report on staff attendance, punctuality, and any instances of absenteeism.
  • Convey and enforce company policy.
  • Attend staff meetings as required.
  • Actively participate in safety programs and follow policies.
  • Input staff into the stand daily sheet for each event, ensuring the staff are placed in the best locations to utilize their strengths.
  • All other duties as assigned.

THE INDIVIDUAL

The ideal candidate will have the following background:

  • A minimum of 2 years' experience in a similar environment is an asset.
  • Skills: Strong organizational and time management skills; excellent communication and interpersonal abilities; proficiency in scheduling software and Microsoft Office Suite; ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Attributes: Detail-oriented, problem-solving mindset, and a customer-focused approach. A positive self-starter, able to work to a deadline in a fast-paced environment.

Certifications

  • ProServe Certification is mandatory.
