POSITION SUMMARY:
Reporting to the Support Service Manager and/or designate, the dedicated Laundry Aide will help maintain a safe and welcoming environment for our residents. In this role, you will be responsible for collecting soiled laundry from each of our buildings, transporting the laundry carts to the laundering facility, washing and drying the laundry in commercial machines, folding the clean laundry, and distributing them as appropriate to residents. There is a high volume of laundry that must be handled promptly, so you need to be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
Include but not limited to:
Gather and transport soiled laundry from all buildings to the laundry facility
Wash and dry laundry
Fold all clean laundry and distribute to residents
Keep accurate records of linens
Notify management of any issues with equipment
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
A high school diploma or equivalent (preferred)
Familiarity with efficient washing methods
Proficiency with laundering equipment and tools
Hardworking and efficient
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Ability to demonstrate professionalism in providing quality services to residents.
Ability to take direction, follow instruction, and learn procedures.
Ability to work independently and as a member of the team.
Must be able to lift a maximum of 25 kg or 55 lb, push, pull, stretch, reach, crouch and kneel as needed.
Ability to communicate effectively both written and orally in English.
