The Operations Manager assesses, plans and ensures the execution of all site activities with safety, quality and fiscal responsibility as primary driving factors. Hires staff and delegates the daily activities to the Operations or Safety Lead Hand. The Operations Manager is accountable for the overall wellbeing of the FTE’s and subcontractors who report directly to him or her while on the worksite.
Principal Safety Duties
• Oversee Daily Toolbox and Shift Starter Meetings for focus and quality.
• Review and participate in safety observations, audits, inspections and develop action plans.
• Ensures compliance with all Aramark and site safety requirements.
• Injury Investigations & Procedures Contacts Management & Client for employee incident / injury reports.
• Oversee and approve the development of Monthly Safety Meetings and assist in presentation.
• Creation / updating of Safe Work Procedure and Process documents.
Financial Responsibilities
• Consistently monitors budget and adjusts manpower, costs and other expenditures to achieve targets.
• Develops financial projections based on most relevant and up to date information and provides to District Manager for review.
• Monitors the maintenance of accurate counts of inventory, supplies and equipment
• Will ensure all monetary decisions are based on good fiscally responsible information.
• Is accountable for all financial decisions made at the field level and are made in the best interest of ARAMARK.
Supervisory Responsibilities
• Ensures training programs are of a high industry standard and meet all applicable requirements.
• Directs and supervises all Leadership personnel on site; oversees the effective use of all resources to accomplish safety and operational excellence standards.
• Reviews and enforces procedures and policies
• Acts as primary contact (both during the workday & after-hours) for all requests for services, special projects, complaints and general inquiries.
• Schedules and monitors all “one-off” projects both in and out of scope for compliance, quality & safety.
• Coordinates all grievance and disciplinary matters.
Contacts
• Encounters customers and clients daily while performing his/her duties depending on location.
• Develops and fosters relationships with new and existing suppliers.
The Operations Manager work is not directly supervised on a regular basis. Effective knowledge decision making skills are required for day-to-day activities. Errors detected should be directed to the Aramark District Manager for further direction and assistance.
