This role is in the Corporate Development team, and the successful candidate will support collecting and reporting financial data to senior executives and stakeholders. They will enhance their analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to identify improvement opportunities. Additionally, the candidate will learn to develop effective communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills while preparing documentation and creating data analysis tools.

What you'll do

• Gather and report actual, forecast, and long-range plan details to senior executives and stakeholders.

• Build and maintain financial models for capital projects, transportation commitments, GHG reduction initiatives, and M&A opportunities, while performing consolidated modeling to support strategic decisions.

• Facilitate monthly Investment Governance (IC) meetings, including opportunity memo reviews, management information slides, and ad hoc requests for Opportunity Owners.

• Collaborate with key stakeholders in the Capital Allocation Framework, including opportunity owners, corporate planning, sustainability, and governance bodies, to ensure organizational consistency.

• Develop and implement data analysis tools to enhance planning cycle efficiencies, conduct quality control checks, perform variance analysis, and communicate findings.

• Maintain the company-wide Portfolio Management Tool for asset screening and financial evaluation, conducting scenario analysis to assess the impact of commodity prices, government policies, and asset strategies on corporate performance.

Who you are

Our ideal candidate will have the following minimum qualifications:

• Legally authorized to work in Canada full-time for the duration of your work term and able to produce documentation upon application (e.g., work visa)

• Available to begin work in May 2025.

• Comfortable in MS Suite, specifically Excel.

• Strong proficiency in financial modeling.

• Analytical mindset with attention to detail.

• Interest in energy markets, government policy, and corporate strategy.

We acknowledge the value of transferrable skills and may consider equivalent combinations of experience and education should you not meet a specific requirement.

Education

• Must be enrolled in a Commerce or Business Administration, Finance, Economics or Engineering Undergraduate Program at an accredited post-secondary institution at the time of intended work term and returning to full-time studies after the work term OR registered in an accredited post-secondary co-op or internship program for the duration of the work term.

• Candidates currently enrolled in either a Master's or Ph.D. program at an accredited post-secondary institution may also be considered.

• New graduates are not eligible for student opportunities.
