What will be your daily pursuit?

As a part of the Glacier Experience team, dispatchers are the tour orchestrators of the Columbia Icefield attractions. Dispatchers are responsible for ensuring customers' needs are met through proper and efficient utilization of equipment and drivers. The Dispatcher is the center of communication for all lines of business at the Icefield. They must adapt and respond to changes, cancellations and unforeseen circumstances, all while monitoring personnel and equipment locations and statuses, which can make it a stressful position.

What will your compensation be?

The starting salary for this position is $19.00.

What will you do in this job?

  • Daily dispatching of tours, reacting to unforeseen changes and management of sales inventory
  • Creating future Columbia Icefield dispatch, troubleshooting and resolving scheduling issues
  • Communication and tour orchestration with onsite Group Sales Agents
  • Communication with other attractions and third-party organizations
  • Maintaining Vehicle tracking reports and communicating issues to Icefield Management
  • Maintaining Visitor tracking reports and daily tour pax counts
  • Adjust daily dispatch to ensure efficiency and balance across drivers and equipment
  • Using Radio transmission to communicate with all Columbia Icefield business areas
  • Forecasting of equipment and group business, flagging issues with Icefield Management
  • Communicating with emergency personnel and 911 operators if an emergency occurs
  • Other duties as assigned

What skills and experience do you need for this job?

  • Organization, time management and stress handling skills are a must, but a passion for making a difference for each guest and employee is the most important aspect of this position!
  • Must get excited at the idea of living and working in a remote (yet very social) environment
  • Fluent and articulate in English, able to communicate and comprehend over two-way radio, required
  • Administrative skills including intermediate to advanced use of Microsoft Excel, required
  • Experience using RTP POS Software, an asset
  • Proven strength in problem solving, critical thinking, attention to detail and ability to make decisions
  • Must be able to react quickly and efficiently, with flexibility in mind
  • Ability to produce morale-boosting posts for staff in regard to activities & services
  • Must be able to handle High stress situations calmly and logically
  • Able to adapt and adhere to change easily
  • Guest service-oriented mindset and an ability to work in a team environment
  • Must enjoy working outdoors, even in challenging mountain weather conditions
  • Comfortable working on your feet for extended periods of time in both an indoor and outdoor environment. Be prepared for all weather conditions (Snow, Rain, Wind, Hail)
  • Must meet the Organization grooming and appearance standards
