Job Description

Working closely with other members of the Engineering Team, you will assist in the daily operations of the Hotel to ensure systems are maintained to meet the highest standards possible. This candidate must be experienced in all aspects of the trade, able to work independently, as a team player, and adhere to both environmental and safe work practices.

Pay Rate: $19.61-$38.69p/h dependent on level of experience.

What you will be doing:

Both experience and the technical knowledge and skills are applied to your trade in the maintenance of mechanical systems within a heritage building. Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Steam and Hydronic heating systems
  • HVAC systems
  • Drainage Systems
  • Water distribution systems
  • Kitchen equipment
  • Operating knowledge of building automation systems
  • Able to communicate effectively and professionally with both guests and colleagues
  • Should be able to work on boilers, hot water tanks, compressors and pneumatic systems and back flow preventers
  • Must have experience servicing, troubleshooting, diagnosing, repairing and installing water heaters, tubs, toilets, sinks, faucets, showers, various valves, pipes, drains, water softeners, etc.
  • Respond to requests in a timely manner, and assist in achieving the Departmental and Hotel goals. These duties are representative and do not encompass the full range of performance expectations.
  • Must be able to read and interpret drawings/schematics and specifications as required

Qualifications

Your experience and qualifications include:

  • Journeyman certification Alberta and/or Inter-provincial Red Seal
  • Alberta Gas Ticket
  • Class 5 drivers license with clean record (abstract must be provided upon acceptance)
  • Water Treatment Plant operation experience is an asset
  • Class 4 or 5 power engineering ticket is an asset
