What will you do in this job?

  • Manage all aspects of operations at a historic lodge or hotel
  • Leads by example, trains and coaches' team to provide excellent, memorable guest service
  • Communicate effectiely with all departments & managers to ensure operations coordination
  • Keeps record of potential safety and maintenance issues and communicates details to appropriate departments. Also, the POC for all emergency situations/ OH&S incident reporting.
  • Aids GM in ensuring departmental expenditure and labor is kept within budget by through best business practices
  • Aid GM in tracking/managing cash, credit, debit, and room charge transactions
  • Acts as an ambassador of the Hotel and the National Park offering guests information about hotel history, available services, points of interest in the surrounding area, and entertainment options
  • Aids in recruitment for seasonal openings
  • Effectively resolve guest complaints and restore guest satisfaction through active listening, creative problem solving and appropriate compensation as needed.
  • Follows up and responds to positive and negative reviews, surveys, comments and feedback via phone, email, software, and in person.
  • Ensure compliance with internal SOPS and company standards
  • Fosters a fun, positive and motivating team culture focused on excellent guest service.
  • Oversee all aspects of staff accommodation: room assignment, housing agreement, vacancies, roster, cleaning, conflict resolution etc.
  • Assists in planning, leading and chaperoning of staff events.
  • Lead weekly manager meetings as needed
  • Ensure managers have all necessary items to operate effectively & efficiently
  • Offers assistance to guests and teammates where needed
  • Performance management with leaders/team members as needed.
  • Perform other duties as requested by GM

What skills and experience do you need for this job?

  • 2-3 years previous hotel GM experience required
  • Hotel/Restaurant degree or equivalent experience preferred
  • Experience in seasonal hotel operations or concessions preferred
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills required
  • Work-ethic and commitment to the team and guests is key
  • Be willing and able to work solo or as part of a team
  • Be committed to Safety First and the highest quality
  • Be organized with a great eye for detail
