Position: Employee Experience & Revenue Administrative Assistant (Full Time Seasonal)

Start Date: 18 November 2024

End Date: 9 April 2025 (TBC)

Schedule/Hours: Monday to Thursday, 40 hours per week. The role is evenly split, with 20 hours dedicated to Employee Experience Assistant duties under HR and 20 hours as a Revenue Administrative Assistant working with the F&B department. Flexibility is required for hosting events in the evenings or on other days of the week.

This is a combined role where you will work 50/50 between the Human Resources and Food & Beverage departments at Fernie Alpine Resort. Reporting to both the HR & Admin Manager & the Director of Revenue, you will be responsible for managing our employee experience programs while providing administrative support to the Director of Revenue. This dual role requires versatility, strong organizational skills, and effective communication at all levels.

Responsibilities

Employee Experience (HR):

  • Prepare and promote the employee experience program, including creating posters on Canva.
  • Plan and coordinate staff events, including orientation, Christmas, and end-of-season celebrations.
  • Host various staff events, such as curling nights, and introduce new events you envision.
  • Produce the staff newsletter with assistance from the team.
  • Maintain clear and effective communication with staff regarding event details and schedules.
  • Organize and execute a mid-winter wellness week for staff.
  • Collaborate with the Employee Relations Committee to support employee engagement and satisfaction.
  • Provide general HR and Administrative support as needed.
  • Know and follow all safe work procedures included in the Safety Management Program.
  • Adhere to all guidelines and policies of Resorts of the Canadian Rockies.

F&B Administration:

  • Assist the Director of Revenue with administrative tasks for all F&B outlets, including invoicing and data entry.
  • Provide administrative support to the Director of Revenue.
  • Handle email correspondence, both internal and external.
  • Produce various written reports, spreadsheets, and documents using MS Word and Excel.
  • Represent all F&B Outlets & Base Operations at the resort's health & safety meetings.
  • Support and assist all F&B Outlet Managers with safety-related inspections and report compliance.
  • Know and follow all safe work procedures included in the Safety Management Program.
  • Adhere to all guidelines and policies of Resorts of the Canadian Rockies.

Qualifications

  • Creativity and enthusiasm for planning and hosting events.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills; an independent worker with an eye for detail.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality is required.
  • Previous experience in event planning or coordination is an asset.
  • Previous experience in an office environment is required.
  • Experience with Mailchimp & Canva is an asset.
  • Strong proficiency in MS Word and Excel.
