We are looking to fill the position of Road Crew at Fernie Alpine Resort. When guests come to our hill they often comment on the beauty of the surrounding scenery, how breath taking the mountains are, and most importantly, how well maintained the roadways are especially in the middle of winter. The ideal candidate will be an excellent communicator and team player. You Will:

  • Be responsible for snow removal and maintenance of FAR roads / parking / utilities in a timely manner after snow falls
  • Be responsible for maintaining and removing large snow banks from lots, plaza, and road sides to ensure proper drainage
  • Be responsible to ensure all basic vehicle checks and maintenance is being done
  • Be responsible for installation and maintenance of equipment chains
  • Report any equipment problems to the Vehicle Maintenance department
  • Know and adhere to the policies, rules and protocols outlined in the Resorts of the Canadian Rockies Employee Handbook
  • Know and follow all safe work procedures included in the Safety Management Program
  • Know and comply with all expectations of the Injury Management/Return-to-Work Programs
  • Perform other tasks and duties that are applicable

You Have:

  • Confidence and efficiency in operating all resort equipment (grader, loader, bobcat, gravel trucks, Bulldozers and snowcats)
  • The ability to work alone or in a team environment and are reliable
  • Willingness to work shifts - both nighttime, early mornings, and weekends
  • A valid driver's license required
  • A Class 3 license with air brake endorsement is an asset but not required
  • A reliable personal vehicle
