What will you do in this job?
Assist in the day-to-day management of the Attraction team and ensure the team provides upbeat and professional hospitality. The Attraction team is responsible for the Sky Zipline, Challenge Course, Giant Canyon Swing, Mountain Coaster, ticket validation, trail monitoring, interpretative programing and guiding.
Conduct daily suspension bridge inspections of the upper and lower Skybridges.
Assist in leading morning team meetings to ensure Team Leaders are aware of the expectations of the day.
Responsible for supporting the daily work assignments of the Adventure Guides by adjusting the daily schedule set out by the Attraction Manager by adjusting to the needs of the park and team as required.
Have extensive technical and practical knowledge of how each of the attractions operate.
Perform the duties of an Adventure Guide to cover shortages, meal breaks, and support the team on high volume visitation days.
Assist in training the new and existing Adventure Guides and provide ongoing coaching, constructive feedback, and reoccurring skills training throughout the season.
Manage unsatisfactory employee performance and initiate Performance Management procedure in accordance with Pursuit policies with the support of the Attractions Manager.
Responsible for opening and closing procedures.
Lead rescue responses, inclement weather responses, and coordinate first aid as needed.
Foster a positive and encouraging team environment and motivate the Adventure Guide team to deliver exceptional guest experience and maintain a professional image.
Be skilled in conflict resolution and managing intrapersonal relations of staff members as needed.
Support the technician team as required for inspections and maintenance of equipment as needed.
Monitor and enforce high standards for employee appearance, customer service, and safety protocols.
Upkeep and cleaning of work zones to ensure all areas meet expectations for cleanliness.
Serve as the escalation point and working in conjunction with the Guest Experience team to resolve customer service issues or concerns quickly and professionally.
Execute all work in a safe, professional manner in compliance with H&S and our Always Honest Policy.
Other duties as required.
What skills and experience do you need for this job?
Candidates must be 19 years old on or before April 1 of the summer for which you are applying.
A minimum of one-year supervisory experience with proven ability to manage a team.
Strong physical stamina and conditioning. Physical demands of the position include working outdoors in all weather conditions, repetitive actions and speaking, sitting/standing for extended periods of time, frequent bending/twisting, and ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds.
First aid and/or CPR certification is an requirement.
Be able to walk long distances at high altitudes and climb stairs/ladders.
Possess full range of overhead arm motions. Have full hand dexterity. Have enough upper body strength to pull self and the potential addition of up to 250 pounds along each cable's incline.
Must have the ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business instructions, technical procedures, or government regulations that will be written in English.
Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, evenings and holidays.
Understanding the concept of mandatory safety at heights - previous climbing/rope experience an asset.
Experience working as a ropes course or zipline attendant considered an asset.
Experience facilitating groups of all ages and diverse backgrounds.
Strong organizational skills and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Strong customer focus providing friendly, professional, and efficient service.
Effective problem solving and critical thinking skills.
Demonstrate high levels of positive energy and a willingness to take on new challenges.
