JOB SUMMARY

Conducting repairs and maintenance on a variety of equipment including; snow cats, snowmobiles, excavators, truck fleet, snow plows, industrial and stationary engines, belts, chains, gears, heavy equipment, clutches, couplings and other various heavy equipment.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Conducting repairs and maintenance on a variety of equipment including; snow cats, excavators, industrial and stationary engines, belts, chains, gears, heavy equipment, clutches, coupling and other various heavy equipment
  • Typical repairs include but are not limited to; routine maintenance and repairing engine chassis and body components, hydraulic cylinders, brake systems, suspension systems, cooling systems, wheels and tires
  • Inspecting machines and discovering any functionality issues
  • Troubleshooting reported problems and resolving them in a timely manner
  • Road testing vehicles to troubleshoot problems and/or test repairs to ensure proper and safe completion
  • Ensuring repairs are carried out according to manufacturer's procedures and in a safe and responsible manner, within the designated time frame
  • Using a large array of hand and power tools
  • Maintaining the shop as a safe and healthy working environment
  • Performing all other duties as assigned

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position reports to the Manager, Mountain Operations and does not require any direct supervisory responsibilities.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND ABILITIES

  • Welding and fabrication experience an asset
  • Previous ski industry or related experience an asset
  • Valid Class 5 Driver's License
  • Good working knowledge of current WCB regulations
  • Ability to operate heavy equipment, ATV's and 4x4 trucks in a safe and responsible manner
  • Ability to operate snow mobiles - training provided on site
  • Good communication skills, self-motivated, mature, dependable and able to work well with others in a team environment
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • This position requires flexibility with work schedules including work on weekends, evenings and holidays

WORKING CONDITIONS

Hours of Operation are weather dependant. Due to the nature of the business, this position requires flexibility in terms of your work schedule. A variety of work schedules may include a variety of start times and may include shifts on weekends and statutory holidays. Shifts require standing for long periods of time, lifting, twisting, and other forms of manual tasks.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

$39.20 to $44.53/hour plus, when applicable: additional $4.00/hour premium rate for weekends and any after hours shifts
