JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking an energetic and self-motivated professional to support and grow our leisure sales program. The Specialist is a strong communicator with natural interpersonal skills conducive to building and maintaining excellent relationships with tourism industry clients. In addition to administrative duties, this individual will also promote our mountain experience to clients through familiarization tours, product knowledge training, in-destination outreach, off-site networking events and industry shows. This role is well suited for an individual with an entrepreneurial spirit and interest in growing their career within tourism.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Tour Operator and Travel Trade Partner Relations:

  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with tour operators and other industry partners
  • Partner support including operations and logistics updates, rate administration and providing promotional content and sales tools
  • Ensure client satisfaction and resolve any issues that may arise
  • Coordinate logistics such as arrival process, ticket redemption and ensuring everything is organized and running smoothly

Driving sales through tour operators and industry partners:

  • Proactive outreach to tour partners to identify and develop promotional programs and new business opportunities
  • Lead hotel concierge outreach and referral program
  • Coordinate and participate in familiarization tours, product knowledge programs, industry events/shows
  • Stay on top of industry trends, best practices, competitors and leveraging this industry intelligence to identify and recommend new business opportunities

Inter-Departmental Alignment:

  • Collaborate with internal teams (marketing, finance, operations, guest services) for supporting materials, services and seamless operations

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND ABILITIES

  • Successful completion of post-secondary degree or diploma
  • Previous experience in tourism industry preferred
  • Comfortable speaking and presenting in front of groups
  • Ability to think and act strategically, work independently and manage time efficiently
  • Exceptionally strong oral communication skills, ability to develop rapport and credibility
  • Effective presentation selling skills and objection handling techniques
  • Ability to work in a high speed, high demand environment and meet tight deadlines
  • Committed work ethic, positive work attitude
  • Exceptional customer service skills
  • Knowledge of MS products including Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Ability to work evening, weekend and statutory holidays, when required. Some travel required.

WORKING CONDITIONS

This position takes place primarily indoors and onsite at Grouse Mountain Resort, with the exception of familiarization tours and product knowledge tours outdoors on the Mountaintop.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

$53,000 to $58,000 annually
