JOB SUMMARY

Imagine spending your summer inspiring the next generation of mountain bikers! Grouse Mountain Resorts is seeking Mountain Bike Guides who excel at teaching children and leading multi-day camps as well as group and private lessons. If you love biking, enjoy working with kids and are ready to create unforgettable memories in a stunning outdoor environment - we want you on our team for the summer 2025 season!

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Teaching the Basics and Beyond: Lead engaging lessons designed specifically for children and youth, focusing on building skills, confidence and a love for biking
  • Lead Exciting Lessons and Programs:Facilitate fun, educational and safe biking camps, group and private lessons that keep kids and adults coming back for more
  • Create a Fun Environment:Use games, challenges and positive reinforcement to make every ride an adventure
  • Ensure Safety First:Maintain a strong focus on safety, ensuring all equipment is in excellent condition and trail rules are followed
  • Be a Role Model:Inspire young riders with your enthusiasm, patience and expertise

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND ABILITIES

  • You're a PMBIA Level 2 Certified (required) biking pro with a knack for connecting with kids and youth
  • You have a 20hr First Aid Certificate (required)
  • You've got experience leading lessons or camps, and you know how to keep young riders engaged and excited
  • Your customer service skills are top-notch, and you thrive in creating positive guest experiences
  • You're adaptable, energetic and ready to work outdoors in all conditions
  • You've completed high school (or equivalent) and are available from June to September 2025
  • Have appropriate physical fitness to take on all assignments
  • Be fluent in all aspects of the English language (spoken and written)
  • Be able to work in inclement weather in an alpine environment
  • Have sight, speech and hearing abilities sufficient to learn skills, follow and provide directions
  • Available to work five days a week including evenings, weekends & holidays
  • Successful applicants over the age of 19 will be required to provide results of a clear background check valid within six months of the hire date before starting work. Grouse Mountain will assist with this process if the applicant does not have a valid background check

WORKING CONDITIONS

Hours of Operation are weather dependant. Due to the nature of the business, this position requires flexibility in terms of your work schedule. A variety of work schedules may include a variety of start times, including shifts on weekends and statutory holidays. Shifts require standing for long periods of time, lifting, twisting, and other forms of manual tasks.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

Starting at $24.00/hr to $26.46/hour
