Job Summary:

As a General Labourer, you will play a crucial role in the successful installation of the mountain coaster. Your responsibilities will include assisting with the assembly and installation of coaster components, operating hand and power tools, and ensuring the worksite is safe and organized. This position requires physical stamina, a strong work ethic, and the ability to work well in a team. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of an exciting project in a dynamic and outdoor environment.

Essential Job Functions

  • General maintenance/prepping of ground for track alignment
  • Working with both internal trade team as well as external contractors working on the project
  • Operate hand and power tools to complete various construction tasks and instillation of coaster track and supports
  • Loading and unloading construction materials
  • General site duties such as erecting scaffolding, setting up barricades, mixing and pouring concret, or spreading mulch and fill
  • General maintenance tasks, such as cleaning equipment, organizing tools, and keeping the workplace tidy
  • Assist heavy equipment operators to secure special attachments to equipment, signal operators to guide them in moving equipment and aid in other activities
  • Performing minor maintenance on power tools at beginning/end of shift and while out in the field
  • Adhering to all mountain policies and regulations at all times on or off the job
  • Demonstrating safe work practices and mandatory use of PPE
  • Assisting other departments with manual tasks
  • Cleaning up or assisting trade workers with special tasks
  • Assisting with transport of goods around the mountain top area
  • Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet project deadlines.
  • Perform other general labor duties as assigned

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position reports directly to the Director, Mountain Adventures with no direct supervisory responsibilities given.

Required Qualifications and Abilities

  • Previous experience in construction or general labour preferred
  • Familiarity with tools and equipment used in construction will be advantageous
  • Must be in excellent physical condition and hard-working
  • Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physically demanding tasks
  • Willingness to work in various weather conditions, including rain, snow, and heat. Proper attire and preparedness for outdoor work are necessary
  • Experience/certification in the use of a chainsaw and/or brush cutter is preferred
  • Must be a team player and able to work with minimal supervision
  • Ability to communicate effectively with supervisors and team members to ensure tasks are completed accurately and efficiently
  • Basic understanding of Risk Management for construction sites
  • OFA certification or equivalent an asset


Working Conditions

  • This role performs most of their duties outdoors and may work in all different kinds of weather conditions.
  • Hours of operation are weather dependent. Due to the nature of the business, this position requires flexibility in terms of your work schedule. A variety of work schedules may include rotation of shifts, day/evening shifts, and weekends and statutory holidays.
  • Shifts require standing for long periods of time, lifting, twisting, shoveling, and other forms of manual tasks.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Starting at $19.85/hour - $21.52/hour
