Job Summary:

The Terrain Park Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the terrain parks. The manager will be responsible for running all aspects of the terrain parks in order to provide a high-quality product for our customers. The main area is ensuring the terrain parks are operating to their utmost quality through employee management, quality and safety control, design and maintenance, and organization of events. Other duties include working closely with the Marketing/Events department for consultation of the snowboard market, event planning and organization, and media liaison for snowboard-specific issues.

Ensure the Terrain Park Supervisor has an active list of tasks. Involvement with feature list update for website, photo/film shoots. Work closely with events and marketing team with terrain park related events.



Essential Job Functions:

  • Recruit, train, coach, and supervise terrain park staff on standard operating procedures, maintenance techniques, and information recording.
  • Recruit, train, and supervise all terrain park staff.
  • Scheduling, payroll, and basic admin and Human Resources tasks.
  • Oversee the design, construction, and maintenance of terrain parks.
  • Perform maintenance tasks such as raking, shoveling, salting, and inspecting features based on traffic and snow conditions.
  • Document maintenance and inspections in the daily conditions report, including weather and snow conditions for liability purposes.
  • Track hourly and daily traffic counts for all terrain park zones for statistical analysis and monitor rider ability levels.
  • Plan weekly builds and create post-build reports.
  • Interact with customers to educate them on terrain park rules, etiquette, and safety tips.
  • Prioritize safety and risk management.
  • Coordinate social media and events with Marketing/Events teams.
  • Collaborate with the Mountain Operations Manager and Safety Manager to ensure terrain parks meet and exceed safety regulations.
  • Work with snowmaking team to plan snow gun placement and snow maintenance strategies.
  • Coordinate with the Patrol Manager for proper fencing, hazard marking, and regular patrolling and documentation of park features.
  • Coordinate with Grooming Operations Manager about Park building strategy for the season.
  • Provide excellent customer service to all guests.
  • Attend Operations meetings.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Supervisory Responsibility
Provide direct supervision to terrain park staff; approximately 15-20 staff members.

Required Qualifications and Abilities

  • 5+ years experience within The Terrain Park industry and Ski Resort operations.
  • Strong understanding of Freestyle Terrain and design experience.
  • Ability to operate a Snowcat is an asset (not required).
  • Experience with welding, carpentry, and basic construction experience an asset.
  • Ability to work in all weather conditions, and rotating schedule including early mornings and late nights.
  • Ability to lift and move heavy objects.
  • Ability to work early mornings and overnight shifts (if necessary).
  • Flexibility with scheduling with possible rotating shift.
  • Ability to follow direction, provide leadership and guidance to team and entire Mountain Operations Department.
  • Complete tasks with minimal supervision.

Working Conditions

The Terrain Park Manager performs 75% of their duties outdoors in mountain weather conditions. 25% indoors completing admin, payroll, planning, and scheduling.

Compensation and Benefits

$54,000 up to $57,000 annually
