Revelstoke Mountain Resort (RMR) is a division of Canada's largest privately held hospitality company, Northland Properties Corporation (NPC), and since its inception in 2007, we have gained a reputation for legendary powder, big mountain terrain, and small-town charm. We are seeking a talented Marketing Manager to join our team and contribute to our mission of providing unforgettable mountain experiences.
Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic General Manager to lead the operations of The Sutton Place Hotel at Revelstoke Mountain Resort. This is a strategic leadership role responsible for driving business success, financial performance, and fostering a culture of excellence, ensuring outstanding guest experiences and a highly engaged team.
Key Responsibilities
Operational & Financial Leadership
• Oversee all aspects of daily hotel operations, ensuring efficiency, high standards, and adherence to company policies and procedures.
• Drive revenue growth, occupancy rates, RevPAR, and market share by collaborating with the Revenue Management team to develop effective pricing strategies.
• Manage financial performance, including NOP, budgeting, forecasting, and cost control, to maximize profitability.
• Ensure timely, accurate financial reporting and compliance with operational controls.
Guest & Employee Experience
• Foster a culture of service excellence, ensuring a consistently exceptional guest experience.
• Maintain an open-door policy and collaborate with HR to promote a fair, inclusive, and engaging work environment.
• Provide mentorship, coaching, and professional development to department leaders, ensuring high performance and accountability.
• Address and resolve guest and employee concerns efficiently to enhance satisfaction and team morale.
Strategic & Community Engagement
• Stay current with industry trends to maintain a competitive edge.
• Lead the hotel's Health & Safety initiatives, including emergency response procedures and safety training.
• Actively participate in community engagement and build strong local business relationships.
Strata & Rental Pool Management
• Oversee the rental pool program, ensuring financial accuracy, owner relations, and maintenance standards.
• Work closely with the strata board and Northland Properties to manage common property maintenance, financial oversight, and strategic initiatives.
Qualifications & Experience
• Minimum 5 years of experience in a hotel leadership role within a comparable environment.
• Deep understanding of hotel operations, including Rooms, Revenue, Sales, Accounting, HR, Security, Strata Corporation, and Rental Pool Management.
• Proven ability to drive guest satisfaction, employee engagement, and financial success.
• Strong leadership, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Experience with budgeting, forecasting, cost control, and financial reporting.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and hotel property management systems.
• Degree/Diploma in Business Administration or Hospitality Management (preferred).
• Additional languages are an asset.
