Under the general direction of the Director, Food & Beverage, the Manager, Food & Beverage or the Manager, Casino F&B, this position is responsible for overseeing the day to day activities of the Food and Beverage operations at the site level on a shift basis. Provides input for Performance Evaluations. Implements new F&B initiatives as directed. Ensures adherence to the Company's policies and procedures, motivates and leads by example and supports Great Canadian's learning environment while establishing a safe and welcoming work environment for all team members.

Key Accountabilities

  • Schedules and supervises team members; verifies time and attendance; assig ns shift work assignments; ensures appropriate coverage while minimizing operating costs as directed
  • Implements new F&B initiatives as directed
  • Monitors cash outs and forwards discrepancy reports to management/accounting
  • Comp letes shift reports for management and for the next shift
  • Monitors staff meals (if applicable)
  • Organizes and participates in the monthly inventory count and forwards inventory reports to management
  • Offers food and beverage ex pertise to internal and external customers
  • Liaises and communicates effectively with all appropriate operational departments
  • Develops and cultivates strong working relationships with all stakeholders: guests, ownership, team membe rs and vendors
  • Ensures compliance with licensing laws, health and safety and other statutory regulations

  • Manages other initiatives as required

Education and Qualifications

  • Post Secondary education in hospitality or suitable combination of education and experience
  • Minimum 1 year food and beverage team lead experience
  • Food Safety c ertification
  • Serving it Right, Smart Serve or IGB Certification n
  • Ability to exceed internal and external customer expectations through timely, effective and service oriented communication
  • Computer literacy in MS Office
  • POS experience
  • Ability to successfully obtain a Gaming License

Work Environment Considerations

  • Regular office, restaurant and casino environment, standing or walking for long periods of time, some exposure to noise, odors, some exposure to verbal abuse, some travel, non-traditional work hours
