Job Summary

Working closely with management, provides training and support to a client focused team responsible for a variety of food and beverage services at four downtown Vancouver properties. Ensures that all services and employees are meeting or exceeding The Lazy Gourmet's standards of exemplary service.

As a Catering Supervisor you will:

  • Works with management to improve all operational systems within the department.
  • Provides training and assists with staff development.
  • Delegates daily and weekly tasks of service staff.
  • Monitors staffing levels, maintains inventory levels, completes all reports required by management.
  • Proactive problem solving to resolve issues with food, service, or employee concerns.
  • Adherence to all Compass Group Canada, Lazy Gourmet, Work BC, and Vancouver Coastal Health FOODSAFE policies
  • Ensure strict compliance with Compass' Quality Assurance and Health and Safety Program, Occupational Health and Safety Act and WHMIS regulations

About you:

  • Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with other team members with the ability to promote organizational goals and resolve problems.
  • Must maintain a professional attitude and demeanor while working in a variety of high pressure environments.
  • Physically able to lift objects up to 35 pounds (16 kilos).
  • Must be able to work on their 'feet' for most of the day, with significant walking between service locations.
  • Strong organizational skills, self-motivated.·
  • A minimum of three years supervisory or management experience in catering industry.
  • Experience in the development and implementation of training materials and practices.
  • Serving It Right certification.
