Under the direct supervision of the Manager, Facilities and Maintenance or the Maintenance Supervisor, this position is responsible for general cleanliness and basic maintenance of the property while contributing to a safe and welcoming work environment for all team members. Ensures adherence to the Company's policies and procedures, motivates and leads by example and supports Great Canadian's learning environment while establishing a safe and welcoming work environment for all team members .
Key Accountabilities
Generalized maintenance and repairs to site property and equipment
Regular compliance inspections and preventative maintenance
Basic electrical repairs including charging/replacing burnt-out light bulbs and fixtures
Plumbing including but not limited to washroom repairs such as preventative maintenance of washroom fixtures and unclogging toilets and sinks using various tools and equipment
Wall repairs and painting
Some basic carpentry work
Carpet and floor repairs
Vacuum cleaner maintenance
Sets up and tears down special events including moving furniture and popup tents
May receive maintenance supplies deliveries, compare to order and quantities and move/arrange items in storage box
Maintain a clean and safe work environment
Comply with safety procedures including the use of required safety equipment and identify unsafe practices or conditions
Develops and cultivates strong working relationships with all stakeholders, guests, ownership, team members, venders and regulators
Adheres to all GPEB, BCLC and GCE departmental and HR policies as they relate to functions of this role
Ensures compliance with licensing laws, health and safety and other statutory regulations
Performs other duties as assigned or directed
Education and Qualifications
Minimum 1 year of work experience;
Experience with pallet jacks and warehousing an asset
Ability to successfully obtain a Gaming License
Forklift Certificate an asset
WHMIS certification an asset
Can understand, speak and write English
Basic computer skills

Lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, bending, stretching, driving, some exposure to heat and cold, dust, dirt, non-traditional work hours
