Reporting to the Senior Manager, Procurement, this role is accountable for ensuring the successful execution of Contract Negotiations, Strategic Sourcing, and New Partnership Opportunities. Procurement is a corporate shared service at Rocky Mountaineer.

This position works closely with numerous departments within the organization to strategically enhance the company's long-term profitability and combine existing partnerships to drive volume, negotiating the best sustainability. It develops and manages a preferred supplier base, follows all procurement activities, negotiates best-in-class contracts, and finds efficiencies across the company transparently and ethically, aligning with Rocky Mountaineers values and strategy. We work together to assist all departments in delivering life-changing experiences for our guests, stakeholders, suppliers, and vendors.

As one of the first contacts for many of Rocky Mountaineer's vendors, customers, clients, guests, and employees, the Procurement Specialist will work in within the Procurement Team on a dedicated portfolio and will consistently provide exceptional service ensuring that needs and expectations are exceeded.

Key Areas of Accountability

Procurement

• Collaborate with the Finance & Risk and Compliance Teams and business units on the implementation of processes, policies and programs

• Manage and maintain key files for stakeholders, such as supplier-vendor catalogues, cost management, contract library, and vendor score matrix.

• Conduct RFX and Capex Exercises Regularly.

• Support business units and stakeholders with valuable information during budget planning

• Manage Supplier Performance as per portfolio assigned

• Assist stakeholders in making informed decisions promptly

• Advise stakeholders of trends and opportunities that drive volume and strengthen relationships

Negotiation

• Negotiate the best possible overall value in every instance with a strategic lens

• Assist business units in achieving annual and long-term financial targets as it relates to their portfolio

• Gain access to best products, services, and contracts through collaborations, negotiation and accountability as it relates to the portfolio

Sourcing

• Conduct and develop competitive bids and proposals

• Manage bidding documents on behalf of shareholders or business units.

• Ensure alignment with company strategic goals, values

• Assist and provide valuable recommendations in vendor selection processes

• Stay up to date with industry and market trends

Supplier Relationship Management

• Act as a liaison between vendors and business units ensuring positive and growing relationships

• Form and grow strategic partnerships

• Streamline vendor catalogues achieving cost and process efficiencies

• Hold supplier partners accountable to achieve desired and contracted outcomes as well as open and transparent agreements for better costs and risk management

Manage and support solution-driven outcomes during supplier evaluation cycles

Qualifications

Experience

• 4- 5 years' of comprehensive experience in Procurement, sourcing and supplier management including 2 years in IT or Marketing.

• Ability to convey a professional demeanour and handle multiple tasks simultaneously in an extremely fast-paced environment.

• Proven expertise in establishing and enhancing a procurement function to optimize efficiency and drive cost savings

• Expert in developing and executing detailed project plans, ensuring timely delivery of business objectives.

Skills/ Requirements

• A proven record of accomplishment of excellent organizational skills and time management with an ability to meet deadlines in a busy work environment is essential for this position.

• Create and maintain a highly efficient, solid, and positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders

• Previous experience with COUPA, Net Suite is an asset

• Capable of Negotiation and influence

• Proven accuracy in working with budgets and reports as well as analyzing data

• Demonstrated time management and organizational skills

• Ability to multi-task and proven ability to effectively balance conflicting priorities

Work Environment

• Vancouver-based; hybrid role with minimum 3 Days in office.

Compensation

  • The base salary offered for this role is $64,000 - $74,000 per annum and can vary based on job-related expertise, qualifications, experience and internal equity.
  • Eligible for Rocky Mountaineer's Bonus Program
