Under the general direction of the Manager, Food & Beverage, this position is responsible for all aspects of finalizing sales and catering details. Develops strong relationships with guests, hotel operations, food and beverage and banquets. Ensures adherence to the Company's policies and procedures, motivates and leads by example and supports Great Canadian's learning environment while establishing a safe and welcoming work environment for all team members.
Key Accountabilities
Plans and coordinates pre-event meetings; ensures all stakeholders are involved and in agreement with event details
Advises clients of available facilities, menus and pricing; makes recommendations
Maintains accurate and detailed records of events, guests, orders, payments and expenses
Creates the Banquet Event Order for each event in conjunction with the Manager, Sales & Catering
Inspects facilities before, during and after the event
Compiles and distributes departmental reports
Coordinates and attends departmental meetings
Assists with mail outs, fax blasts and other sales initiatives
Responds to and resolves guest issues promptly and efficiently
Follows up with guests to complete a post-event quality report; submits to the Director, Sales & Catering
Liaises and communicates effectively with all appropriate operational departments
Develops and cultivates strong working relationships with all stakeholders: guests, ownership and team members
Ensures compliance with licensing laws, health and safety and other statutory regulations
Performs other duties as assigned or directed
Education and Qualifications
Post Secondary hospitality or hotel education, or suitable combination of education and experience
Minimum 2 years of experience in sales and catering
Experience with Opera/Fidelio; Squirrel and triple seat experience an asset
Serving it Right certification
Ability to exceed internal and external customer expectations through timely, effective and service oriented communication Computer literacy in MS Office
Ability to successfully obtain a Gaming License
Work Environment Considerations
Regular office environment, non-traditional work hours may be required in certain circumstances, some travel may be required
