Lac La Martre Adventures (LLMA) is 100% Indigenous owned by Tłı̨chǫ Adventures Ltd., a subsidiary of the Tłı̨chǫ Investment Corporation. We are currently looking for a Cook Helper to join our team from June to September. This is a seasonal full-time position at a remote wilderness lodge, working on a rotational basis with expectation that you reside on-site during your rotation at work.

Kitchen & Hospitality Assistant

Reporting to the Kitchen & Hospitality Manager (Chef) and as directed, you will be responsible for preparing breakfast, lunch, and dinner meals for the guests at the Lac La Martre Adventures Lodge and other duties.

Responsibilities:

  • Preparing food for breakfast, lunch, and supper for guests.
  • Knowledge of cooking procedures and methods. Menu plans will be detailed, and instructions will be provided.
  • Extensive knowledge of safe cooking procedures and methods; food handling/storage.
  • Monitoring the inventory levels and expiry dates.
  • Maintaining a clean and sanitary work area including the grills, tables, shelves, refrigerators, etc.
  • Maintaining an organized kitchen.
  • Properly washes and sorts soiled dishes
  • Providing basic housekeeping duties such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, and cleaning of all food service areas.
  • Report to the needs of the Kitchen & Hospitality Manager (Chef) and may entail other duties as required such as serving and bartending.

Requirements:

  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Proven experience in the hospitalities industry (minimum 2 years).
  • Ability to work independently at times without supervision.
  • Ability to speak the Tłı̨chǫ language an asset.
  • Food Safety Certification and WHMIS, or willingness to work towards certification.
  • Good computer skills using Microsoft Office suite of applications (Word, Excel, Outlook)
