Position Overview

The incumbent is responsible for cleaning and sanitizing furnishings, equipment and building in assigned areas. All equipment and cleaning products are used in accordance with safe operating procedures and sanitation regulations. Under direction of the Supervisor, additional assignments are completed.

Experience

  • Housekeeping-related experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of WHMIS an asset.

Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)

  • Minimum Grade 10 education, Manitoba Standards, required.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Must be able to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing.
  • Plans and organizes time efficiently to complete necessary tasks.

Physical Requirements

  • Performs routine repetitive activities.
  • Standing and walking for prolonged periods of time (100 percentage of shift).
  • Operating cleaning machines and lifting, carrying, pushing and pulling equipment/supplies.
  • Ability to push and pull up to 20-25lbs., required.
  • Exposure to chemical cleaning supplies.

This position requires a current satisfactory Criminal Records Check (including Vulnerable Sector Search), Child Abuse Registry Check and Adult Abuse Registry Check as conditions of employment. The successful candidate will be responsible for any service charges incurred. A security check is considered current if it was obtained no more than six (6) months prior to the start of employment.
