This position maintains the cleanliness of the facility, property and or grounds in compliance with applicable standards.

  • 6-month term
  • Up to 4 hours a day
  • Various Days

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensures the general upkeep of the facility such as cleaning floors, vacuuming, sweeping, cleaning washrooms, dusting, collects and disposes of garbage and recycling, vacuums.
  • Follows established work routines, to ensure all areas of housekeeping are addressed.
  • Cleans and vacuums office areas.
  • Empty all office garbage.
  • Checks, cleans, moves, arranges, and dusts furniture as required.
  • Restocks washroom supplies and distributes received material as required.
  • Arranges chairs for activities and stores chairs when required.
  • Checking doors and windows to ensure building security.
  • Uses appropriate sanitizing products, to keep healthy environment.
  • Sweeping and cleaning of all stairwells as needed.
  • Cleans and sanitizes elevator.
  • Performs other work-related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

Qualifications and Education requirements:

  • Completion of some High School.
  • Police Information Check with Vulnerable Sector Search.
  • Adult and Child Abuse Check

Education/Certifications:

  • Education verification
  • This position requires the successful candidate to have a valid driver's license and an acceptable drivers abstract. The successful candidate would have to provide proof upon being hired.

Experience:

  • At least 3 months of related experience including life skills, general familiarity with cleaning and maintenance procedures.

Required Skills/Knowledge:

  • Must be physically able to stand and/or walk for long periods of time, being on their feet all day.
  • Able to lift to 50 lbs., push, and pull various items such as custodial equipment, furniture, and other items.
  • Able to operate industrial cleaning equipment and tools.
  • Able to climb, and work from, ladders at heights of up to 15 feet.
  • Moderate to high attention when using motorized equipment, handling hazardous chemicals, and using non-motorized/general cleaning equipment.
  • Self-directed and able to take initiative and communicate and work well with people.

PREFERRED SKILLS/CAPABILITIES:

  • Knowledge on the operation and maintenance of equipment such as: Buffing machine, snow blower, riding lawn mower.
