Position Overview

Under the general supervision of the Supervisor, Laundry or designate, and while demonstrating a commitment to the Mission, Values and Management Philosophy of St. Boniface Hospital, the Laundry Porter/Cart MakeUp is responsible for: the physical movement of clean and soiled laundry carts from all areas of the hospital complex and affiliated buildings; preparation of linen carts and orders; and performing other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to walk, stand, bend, lift, twist and reach constantly throughout the entire shift.
  • Ability to lift/move items weighing approximately 50 lbs./23 kgs.
  • Ability to push carts weighing up to approximately 500 lbs./230 kgs.
