Position Summary: Reporting to the Facilities Manager, the Facilities Supervisor oversees the operation and maintenance of all front and back areas of the casino, including property facilities, site equipment, and systems (heating, cooling, electrical, lighting, air quality, etc.), as well as an indoor pool and hot tub. This role ensures all areas meet the highest operational standards in compliance with departmental policies and procedures, site security and surveillance policies, internal controls, and New Brunswick Lotteries and Gaming Corporation (NBLGC) operating terms and conditions, along with all applicable environmental regulations.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Demonstrate exceptional customer service and professionalism when interacting with guests, team members, and external work-related groups or agencies.
  • Provide direction and guidance to team members to ensure duties are performed effectively and efficiently.
  • Assist in developing and implementing departmental policies and procedures in alignment with the NBLGC's Casino Standard Policies and Procedures (CSPP), Casino Internal Controls, and other applicable legislation.
  • Monitor and uphold internal safety and environmental quality standards; comply with safety procedures, ensure proper use of required equipment, and identify unsafe practices or conditions, reporting them to the Director of Hotel Operations or General Manager.
  • Oversee and ensure the quality of work related to site repairs, maintenance, services, equipment, outdoor area cleanliness, customer service, staffing levels, inventory management, work order completion, and preventative maintenance.
  • Manage the operational schedule and oversee the maintenance of all on-site equipment.
  • Control costs, reduce waste and expenses, and ensure adequate staffing levels to support efficient operations; generate and analyze reports as needed.
  • Conduct regular risk assessments and inspections to safeguard company assets, patrons, and staff.
  • Ensure control of access to secured areas of the casino facility.
  • Prepare and implement safe work plans and other operational plans, including emergency evacuation procedures, shutdown permits, and training programs.
  • Perform various maintenance tasks, including minor carpentry, painting, equipment repairs, and upkeep of indoor and outdoor areas.
  • Ensure proper fire equipment management, including completing and recording monthly fire pump testing and weekly valve inspections.
  • Maintain a valid Pool Operator Certificate.

Education and Qualification Requirements:

  • Post-secondary education in a relevant field or a minimum of five years of related experience.
  • Certification in a relevant discipline is an asset.
  • Minimum five years of supervisory experience in commercial maintenance or a related field preferred.
  • Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and decision-making skills.
  • Experience with floor machines, WHMIS, and biohazard cleanup is an asset.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks, work in a fast-paced environment, and manage multiple priorities.
  • Valid Motor Vehicle Operator's License and eligibility for a site driving permit.
  • Bilingualism (French/English) is an asset.
