General Supervisor

We're looking for a leader who brings experience, insight, and a positive influence to drive success. This position is based in Wabush, NL.

The shift rotation for this position is 7x7. Housing is available.

The salary for this role is $135,000 per year, with additional premiums available. This position is also eligible for a short-term incentive plan.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Ensures compliance with safety rules and regulations to minimize injuries and meet regulatory requirements. Work with supporting personnel to achieve optimal production and profitability of asset performance.
  
  
• Provides leadership and guidance to the team. Support proper training and development of all reporting employees. Accomplishes department objectives by supervising staff and organizing and monitoring work processes. Ensures full knowledge of and implementation of all standard operating procedures and other work practices. Participate in recruitment, selection, orientation and training of employee and developing personal growth opportunities. Assists trades people with work as needed.
  
  
• Coordinate mechanical and welding services within the branch and field services locally as well as in remote locations. Ensures shop and field activities are conducted within safety, quality, productivity and cost standards. Drive continuous improvement centered on workflow management, streamlining and / or implementing new processes / procedures. Ensure equipment reliability through proper maintenance tactics.

Qualifications:

This role requires a minimum of 3 years of leadership experience and at least 5 years experience in the mining equipment industry. A Heavy Equipment Technician Journeyperson certificate or equivalent experience is preferred. A combination of education and experience will also be considered. Additional qualifications include:

• Proven expereince in coaching and mentoring employees.
• Ability to set priorities, schedule work and provide clear communication of goals.
• Proven ability to develop, manage, and optimize budgets while implementing cost-saving strategies without compromising service quality.
• Skilled in conducting independent evaluations, selection, adaption and modifications of service best practice.
• Strong knowledge of safety regulations and best practices, with a commitment to fostering a proactive safety culture and ensuring compliance in all operations.
• Bilingual in English and French is an asset.
