Tourism Nova Scotia is a division of Communities, Culture, Tourism and Heritage. Tourism Nova Scotia works with communities and industry to attract visitors to the province and increase tourism revenues through experience and sector development, business coaching, marketing, and visitor servicing. We lead tourism marketing and development initiatives to benefit all regions of our province.
Tourism Nova Scotia operates five provincial visitor information centres (VICs) in Nova Scotia. The VICs are in: Amherst, Halifax Airport, Peggy's Cove, Port Hastings, and Yarmouth. VICs are one of the first points of contact for many visitors to Nova Scotia. Our team members are the front-line ambassadors that welcome visitors and provide travel counselling services.

Are you passionate about promoting Nova Scotia to travelers from all over the world. As a Student Tourism Ambassador at the Amherst VIC, you will gain practical, professional tourism experience, and receive training and mentorship from our travel counsellors. This is the perfect opportunity to assist with welcoming visitors and providing customized trip planning assistance and customer service to visitors travelling throughout Nova Scotia.
This position reports to the Amherst Visitor Information Centre Supervisor.

To be considered for this position you must be currently enrolled as a student and returning to school in the fall (or in the next applicable semester for the education program). Preference will be given to students with tourism/customer related education and work experience. Good communication skills are required.

This opportunity requires an individual who can work over a seven-day period schedule including weekends and holidays.
Travel may be required for work and training purposes and travel expenses will be reimbursed by the employer.
There is one full-time student position (35 hours a week) available based out of the Amherst VIC, 90 Cumberland Loop (NS/NB Border).
This opportunity will start mid-May (flexible) with an end date of August 30, 2025, or later (depending on return to school date).
Pay Grade: HOURLY
Salary Range: $15.73 - $29.69 Hourly
