Position: Tour LiaisonAre you passionate about sharing the beauty and culture of the Northwest Territories with visitors from around the world? My Backyard Tours is seeking a Tour Liaison to join our team, helping guests connect with our region's traditions, stories, and landscapes through exceptional experiences.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct engaging and safe community and regional tours, sharing the history and culture of the area from Indigenous perspectives.
  • Lead a variety of activities, including city tours, hiking, fishing, cultural practices, demonstrations and more.
  • Transport guests, luggage, winter clothing rentals and supplies using company vehicles.
  • Facilitate guest introductions to other tour operators and activities, ensuring smooth transitions.
  • Provide exceptional customer service and always ensure guest safety.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and multi-task effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills and a customer-focused attitude.
  • Self-motivated and reliable, able to manage time effectively and work independently.
  • Demonstrated professionalism, sound work ethics, and a commitment to safety.
  • Class 4 and/or 5 Driver's License (mandatory).
  • Standard First Aid and CPR certification (mandatory).
  • Ability to identify and address workplace hazards and report concerns to the supervisor.

Additional Assets

  • Knowledge of the region's history, culture, and natural environment, particularly from an Indigenous perspective.
  • Experience in tourism, customer service, or guiding.
  • Multilingual abilities (especially in Indigenous languages or Spanish) are a plus.
