Position Summary: The Lead Alpine Equipment Technician is responsible for managing the daily operations of our rental equipment, including skis, snowboards, ice skates, ski and snowboard boots, and helmets. This role ensures that all equipment is properly maintained, organized, and in top condition for our guests. The Lead Alpine Technician will oversee inventory control, equipment upkeep, and assist with training and guiding the rental team. They will also be responsible for pulling rental attendants off the floor to assist with ski sharpening and other tasks during slow periods.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Manage inventory, organization, and maintenance of all rental equipment.

  • Perform regular inspections and repairs on skis, snowboards, ice skates, boots, and helmets to ensure they meet safety and quality standards.

  • Oversee equipment check-in/check-out processes, ensuring proper tracking and condition of items.

  • Conduct a set routine maintenance, including ski and snowboard tuning, sharpening, and waxing.

  • Assist in training and lead the rental attendants on equipment handling and maintenance tasks to keep the equipment in good condition and the guests safe.

  • When the rental attendants aren't busy with guests, assigning tasks to help with the equipment, with ski sharpening and other maintenance tasks during non-peak hours.

  • Monitor stock levels and communicate with managers to order replacement parts and new equipment as needed.

  • Ensure the rental area is clean, organized, and equipment is easily accessible for both guests and staff.

  • Maintain equipment logs and service records to ensure accurate tracking and reporting.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in equipment maintenance or rental operations in a ski or snowboard environment, required.

  • Strong understanding of ski and snowboard tuning and maintenance is key.

  • Ability to work with a team and lead while on shift.

  • Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.

  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
