Your Opportunity

The primary responsibilities of this position include:

  • Maintain the high quality and safety of Terrain Park features by completing regular maintenance involving raking, shoveling, salting, inspecting of all features throughout the day, depending on visitor traffic, and snow conditions
  • Execute opening and closing procedures daily
  • Perform regular maintenance of terrain park fences and signage
  • Complete daily documentation of feature maintenance and required incident reports
  • Interact with visitors to educate and inform them of Terrain Park rules and etiquette, future layout plans, rational behind layout decisions, and consideration of their input and ideas.
  • Collaborate with the Recreation Operations team to help build new features
  • Mindful of all safety hazards/concerns within the work environment, ensuring safety issues are reported
  • Assist customers with inquiries and maintain a safe and attractive visitor environment.
  • Work in accordance with the Conservation Halton’s Safety Policies & Procedures and the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations and all other related manuals.
  • Other duties as assigned

Your Qualifications

  • Strong ski and/or snowboard ability required
  • A strong interest in freestyle skiing/snowboarding
  • Strong customer service, interpersonal, and communication skills required
  • Ability to work in all types of weather conditions
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and in a team environment
  • Able to lift up to 40 pounds, stand, and walk for long periods of time
  • Comfortable using basic hand tools for trail maintenance
  • Freestyle certification with CSIA, CASI, CSF or CFS is an asset
  • Risk management and first aid experience is an asset
