We are currently seeking a driven and energetic individual to join our growing business in eastern Ontario as a SECURITY OFFICER. Under the direct supervision of the Security Supervisor, this position is responsible for the safety and protection of employees, guests, the facility, and company assets at the site level. In this role, you will also ensure adherence to all policies and procedures while contributing to a safe and welcoming work environment for all employees.

Key Responsibilities

  • Self-motivator and ability to inspire other team members in enhancing the guest experience within the entertainment business;
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize;
  • Ability to follow rules, regulations, policies and procedures at all times;
  • Must be able to work independently, without close direct supervision, and apply good judgment and discretion under pressure;
  • Monitoring, documenting and reporting internal and external violations, unsafe conditions, potential hazards, suspicious persons and activities; preparing written and electronic statements;
  • Enforcing restricted access by unauthorized persons;
  • Observing transactions, slot drops, chip fills and transferring items to Lost & Found;
  • Performing identification checks to any guest who appears under 30;
  • Referring disputes to the Supervisor, Security;
  • Conducting regular patrols of the interior and exterior of the property as assigned;
  • Escorting guests and team members;
  • Performing crowd control as directed;
  • Attend to first aid incidents;
  • Ensuring compliance with licensing laws, health and safety, and other statutory regulations;
  • Assisting Supervisor, Security with enrolling guests in the Self-Exclusion program;
  • Performing other reasonable duties as assigned.

Education and Qualification Requirements

  • Ability to exceed internal and external guest expectations through timely, effective and service-oriented communication;
  • Two (2) years of experience working with the public in a service role or in the service industry;
  • Excellent problem solving and conflict resolution capabilities;
  • High school diploma or equivalent required, post-secondary education an asset;
  • Previous experience or training in security an asset;
  • A willingness to learn, develop and achieve new skills for personal and professional development;
  • Computer literacy in MS Office;
  • Inquisitive, investigative mind, able to identify suspicious behaviors /transactions and make sound judgments based on this;
  • Able to organize data with great accuracy;
  • Knowledge of privacy legislation an asset;
  • A current First Aid/CPR certification;
  • Valid Smart Serve Certification required
  • The ability to obtain registration as a Category 2 Gaming Assistant with the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario.
  • Securities License not required
  • Bilingual (English/French) is an asset but not required"

Work Environment Considerations

  • Work within a 24/7 operation with ability to work flexible hours when required (days, evenings, nights, weekends and holidays)
  • Willing to submit to a criminal record check with results acceptable to our organization, standards and position.
