General Maintenance-grd

Position Summary: Under the general direction of the Maintenance Supervisor the Maintenance Worker ensures adherence to the Company's policies and procedures, motivates and leads by example and supports Great Canadian's learning environment while establishing a safe and welcoming work environment for all team members.

Position Summary (Racing Season-Summer-June to August)

• The Property Services Department is responsible for the upkeep of the buildings, grounds, vehicles and racetrack area of the Company.

Position Summary (Seasonal-Non Racing - September to May)

This position(s) is primarily responsible for the upkeep the grounds and buildings.

Key Accountabilities:

All duties included but not limited to:

• Work the track ie screen, pack, using tractors and or trucks
• Work loader to clean up and put stone down in dump trucks
• Clean ship and lasix barn
• Power wash all track equipment and vehicles
• Cleaning up garbage on property and emptying garbage containers on a regular basis
• Mowing, weeding, planting, cleaning outside surfaces, watering of gardens, trimming, pruning trees and shrubs
• Maintenance in the Paddock and Barns ie filling stalls, painting, fixing walls
• Keeping Maintenance shop clean and organized.
• Salting walkways, shovelling sidewalks and clearing snow on all property
• Cleaning equipment and looking after Start Truck and car having it ready for Racing
• Any other duties as assigned

Education and Qualification Requirements:

• Valid Driver's Licence
• Health & Safety
• Safe equipment training
• Able to operate small motorized equipment including, lawn mowers, grass cutting machines

Work Environment Considerations: Racing environment, may have non-traditional work hours. open availability- weekends included
