Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and serve tasty recipes following recipe standards

  • Consistently follow task lists and quality standards

  • Label, package and handle product selection

  • Receive and rotate products into inventory

  • Operate kitchen equipment safely and ensure that all Health and Safety standards are met

  • Ensure compliance of all food handling requirements and standards

  • Communicate effectively with others regarding all aspects of menu planning, food preparation and execution

  • Greet customers as they enter

  • Give customers drink menus and answer their questions regarding ingredients

  • Take orders while paying attention to details (e.g. preferences of coffee blend, dairy and sugar ratios)

  • Prepare beverages following recipes

  • Serve beverages and prepared food, like cookies, pastries, muffins, pizza, salads, sandwiches, etc.

  • Receive and process payments

  • Keep the bar area clean

  • Maintain stock of clean mugs and plates

  • Check if brewing equipment operates properly and report any maintenance needs

  • Communicate customer feedback to managers and recommend new menu items

  • Perform other relevant tasks and duties assigned from time-to-time

Must-Haves:

  • Previous Kitchen Management experience

  • Food Handler Certification is an asset

  • Experience with kitchen equipment (knives, ovens, stoves, etc.)

  • Knowledge of of applicable rules and regulations regarding food preparation and/or nutrition; knowledge of and skill in the application of safety and sanitary requirements of a food service operation

  • Familiar with sanitation and health and safety food regulations including proper handling of equipment

  • Proficient budgeting skills and understanding

  • Passionate about healthy food & wellness
  • Skilled at creating positive interaction with customers
  • Detail oriented and great at multitasking
  • Quick learner with a comfort level in the restaurant/ cafe environment
  • Interest in learning about healthy food, ingredients and healthy living
  • Work well under pressure independently

  • Proven leadership abilities

  • Strong communication skills - oral and written

  • Excellent time management and organization skills

  • Flexible schedule
