The Successful Candidate Will:
Manage staff scheduling by building and posting weekly schedules, assisting with finding staff coverage, and sending reminders through a weekly staff newsletter.
Support the implementation of camp staff trainings to ensure staff are paid appropriately, required paperwork is collected, sessions are running according to schedule, and resources are printed/distributed.
Print required paperwork for upcoming camp weeks (i.e. class lists, sign in sheets, medical forms, waivers, etc.), as well as file and review previous week's paperwork.
Complete inventory checks, orders camp supplies to support quality camp programming, and tracks purchases to ensure purchases fall within budget allocations.
Collaborate with outside user groups to ensure all parties are on the same page in delivering safe and quality programming. User groups may include Aquatics, Facilities, Customer Service, Special Guests, Bus Company, Vendor Camps, etc.
Respond to inquiries, escalated concerns and emergency situations from parents/guardians and the general public through phone and email, and direct them to the appropriate staff.
Frequently use registration software to complete registrations, withdrawals, refunds, payments and update camper information.

Post-secondary education in a related discipline combined with progressive experience in recreation programming and/or administrative duties is an asset or equivalent of education and experience.
Excellent leadership, organizational, public relations and time management skills.
Ability to work in a team environment, collaborate with co-workers and deal courteously and effectively with staff, participants, parents/guardians and the general public.
Strong working knowledge of computers in Microsoft (Word, Excel, Outlook); Xplor experience is an asset.
Current Standard First Aid & CPR-C certification required.
Current High Five (Principles of Healthy Child Development) certification required.
Crisis Prevention and Intervention (NVCI) certification required.
Class "G" Driver's License in good standing and a reliable vehicle for corporate business.
Due to the nature of the contacts of this position a Police Vulnerable Sector Check satisfactory to the Town (Those 18 Years & Older) or the completion of Declaration of Minors - Working with Vulnerable Individuals Self Declaration Form (Those 17 Years and Younger) is required.
Please Note: Certifications are not required at time of application but must be obtained prior to job commencement. The Town of Newmarket may offer opportunities for certification.
