The job involves:

  • Supervises the day-to-day operations of the Entertainment Security division
  • Provides performance management and attendance management to Events Security Associates and Artist Protection Supervisors, including issuing discipline or recognition as required, in a professional and supportive manner
  • Develops, maintains and delivers training on operational and emergency procedures for OLG Stage and Avalon Ballroom
  • Working within an environment that at times includes restricted lighting and space, strobe lighting, and prolonged exposure to loud music
  • Acts as the emergency response lead and coordinates with external services including Police, Fire and EMS during emergency response
  • Ensures operating standards/policies and procedures are implemented and adhered to, and violations are investigated, documented and addressed
  • Creates duty schedules, delegates work assignments and delivers pre/post performance briefings
  • Ensures a safe and healthy environment for Artists, Guests and Associates
  • Enforce venue rules of conduct, the Trespass to Property Act and execute arrests when required
  • Ensures compliance with all relevant legislation, including but not limited to Building Code, Fire Code, Liquor License Act, Occupational Health and Safety Act, Employment Standards Act and all workplace policies, internal control procedures and AGCO directives
  • Follows-up with any employee, patron or artist issues, complaints or special requests during or after events
  • Builds company reputation through earning trust and loyalty of guests. Shares knowledge and information regarding the organization
  • Works as part of a team for the success of the business. Exhibits attention to detail and accuracy in performing duties
  • Develops and monitors control activities to exceed the AGCO standards and requirements
  • Any other duties as assigned
  • Flexibility to support a 24/7 operation

The ideal candidate has:

  • College Diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum three years management experience with VIP protection and Entertainment Security operations
  • Exceptional communication skills, demonstrates respect, regard and consideration for others
  • Knowledge of Entertainment Centre operations, including associated legislation and regulations
  • Experience working in a Unionized environment
  • Emergency First Responder certification
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Smart Serve certification
  • Excellent computer skills (Excel, Word, AS400, Surveillance system programs, Access Control and Kronos programs)
