Under the general direction of the Regional Director, Hotel Revenue Management, you will be responsible to ensure the smooth and efficient operation in the Hotel Reservations departments of multiple sites through prompt, effective and proper reservations service to achieve maximum room revenue to meet or exceed the revenue target. The qualified candidate will be responsible for rate loading and reporting and hiring, retaining, and developing reservation agents. The incumbent ensures adherence to the Company's policies and procedures, motivates and leads by example and supports Great Canadian's learning environment while establishing a safe and welcoming work environment for all team members.

Key Accountabilities

  • Ensure reservation department and Front Office staff are constantly aware of availability states open, on request, closed dates, high demand dates etc.
  • Ensures the maintenance of accurate reservations records and ensures that Reservation Agents are completing all assigned duties as well as following all established hotel/department policies
  • Maintains reservation forecasting reports based on statistics codes (Market, Source, Rate Code etc.), and makes amendments as required
  • Monitors and coordinates group reservations activity with the Sales Manager and responsible for creating reservation blocks in the system, Opera PMS system, and entering rooming Lists
  • Track all reservations picked up from all online channels like hotel website, Online Travel Agencies, GDS, other third party etc. to utilize within other related reports
  • Understand and enforce hotel and company credit policies and ensure proper billing instructions, routing instructions and payment methods are applied to the reservations
  • Responsible for loading and maintaining rates, packages and tracking codes in the Property Management system
  • Responsible for maintaining Rate parity across all booking channels (website, OTA, GDS, Travel Agents Etc.)
  • Tracks daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly statistics for analytical, budgeting and forecasting purposes
  • Update all channels of distribution as needed with rate or inventory restrictions
  • Determine work procedures, prepare work schedules, assign duties and expedite workflow for Reservation Agents
  • Train newly recruited Hotel Reservation staff in taking reservations, telephone etiquettes, reservation module on hotel software and processing emails
  • Works closely with Regional Director, Hotel Revenue Management - GTA with budgets, managing labor and expenses for department

Education and Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education in Hospitality
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in hotel operations
  • Minimum 3 years leadership experience
  • Knowledge of Opera PMS / TravelClick CRS/ IDeaS RMS are an asset. Proficiency in Opera PMS preferred
  • Knowledge of casino operations is an asset
  • Requires self-initiative, analytical skills, proficiency in technical areas and customer relations
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and organizational skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Proficient at statistical and competitive analysis
  • Guest service and team-oriented high energy individual with a positive attitude is a must
  • Strong interpersonal skills and possession of a full understanding of professional business ethics, decorum and social skills
  • Proven organizational, time management, problem solving skills and presentation skills
  • A commitment to continually increase knowledge of products and services to offer exceptional experiences to guests
  • A willingness to learn, develop and achieve new skills for personal and professional development
  • Ability to successfully obtain a Gaming License
  • Bilingual (English/French) is an asset but not required

Work Environment Considerations

  • Work within a 24/7 operation with ability to work flexible hours when required (days, evenings, nights, weekends and holidays)
  • Must be willing to submit to a criminal record check with results acceptable to our organization, standards and position.
