Under the supervision of the Manager, Grounds & Moving Services, this job is responsible for loading and unloading the truck, event set-up, furniture installation, furniture maintenance, furniture equipment and goods relocation and delivery, public area inspections according to the work instructions by ensuring to follow all the health and safety guidelines and complete the tasks in neat and clean manner
The incumbent must possess the following qualifications:
• Maintains cooperative working relationship with faculty, staff and students
• Strong organizational communication and problem-solving skills
• Works independently with limited supervision while performing duties throughout the campus including outdoor property
• Ability to follow through and carry out assignments
• Ability to effectively work individually, and or as part of a team of diverse groups
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers
• Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
• Ability to operate all power and hand tools and equipment found in a standard furniture maintenance shop to include but not limited to hand drill, screwdrivers, impact gun, ratchets, and box wrenches
• Working knowledge of computers or Facilities Management and Planning's Computerized Maintenance Management System will be an asset
• Knowledge of FMP policies and procedures
• Ability to read and write English
The above is normally acquired through:
• The job requires completion of a High School Diploma or equivalent. Ontario Driving License will be an asset
• The job requires a minimum of 1 year of relevant experience
