We are Somerset West Community Health Centre (SWCHC), a non-profit, community-governed organization that serves over 18,000 clients annually. Established in 1978, SWCHC provides a wide range of health care services such as primary health care, health promotion, community development, mental health and harm reduction. Job Summary

The Philanthropy and Campaign Coordinator is an ambitious fundraising professional who would help us achieve our new fundraising plan, which includes a 4- year Campaign aimed at catalyzing support from the philanthropic community. With the full backing and alignment of Somerset West's Board of Directors and Senior Leadership Team, you will oversee an integrated strategy for philanthropic revenue growth that includes Campaign management. You will work closely with the Executive Director and alongside our communications lead to ensure brand development and communication strategies that engage major donors, corporations, foundations, and other partnerships. You will work to build, over time, a full suite of fundraising programs. You are a self-starter with the drive, commitment, and networking ability to foster existing income streams, and develop new ones from scratch. You understand the Community Health Centre model and an awareness of the key role that social determinants of health play in SWCHC's programming and impact.

Position Requirements

Education

· A minimum a bachelor's degree or equivalent/relevant experience; CFRE designation an asset

Professional Experience

· 3 years fundraising experience in the charitable sector, including exposure to major giving, plus at least one other type of fundraising (E.g. corporate partnerships, foundations, monthly giving etc.)

· Event planning experience is an asset.

Key Competencies

· Experience identifying, cultivating and stewarding mid-level to major gifts is an asset.

· Experience working effectively and collegially with members of senior leadership teams and volunteers.

· Ability to identify and cultivate prospects through networking.

· Excellent oral and written communications skills.

· English

· Other languages considered an asset.

Position Responsibilities.

Strategy & Planning

· Develop fundraising strategy in alignment with organizational strategic objectives, the case for support (i.e. where fundraising dollars are needed to support SWCHC's mission) and in the management of prospect portfolios at all levels.

· Develop and activate the strategy for top Major Gifts and Partnerships prospect/donor portfolio.

· Orchestrate/coordinate SWCHC resources to support fundraising strategy, including involvement of the Executive Director and Board members (as appropriate) in donor/prospect strategy and preparation (e.g. briefing meeting participants, developing prospect profiles)

· Promote fundraising strategy and identify areas of alignment between the Campaign and other SWCHC departments; identify areas for cross-collaboration and integration of fundraising priorities.

· Nurture the development of SWCHC's culture of philanthropy across all levels of the organization.

Fundraising and Campaign Management

· With support from the Executive Director, provide management oversight for all fundraising programs at SWCHC including a 4-year Campaign that will jumpstart and sustain success in major giving, foundations, corporate partnerships, monthly giving and third-party events.

· With support from the Executive Director, Board of Directors and senior staff, develop and manage a portfolio of high- value prospective donors and partners (individual, corporate, trusts/foundations, government, sector- based, etc.) from identification through to solicitation, including proposal and grant writing.

· Support/advance the Executive Director's fundraising activity through preparation of briefing notes and basic prospect research.

· Recognize and celebrate donors through a robust stewardship program, including financial reporting.

· Put systems in place to record, track, and maintain donor and partner engagement through events meetings, teleconferences, reports, etc.

· Ensure that donor criteria and requirements are well understood, documented, communicated, and met.

· Create donor engagement tools including proposals, presentations, stewardship reports and recognition programs to raise funds and awareness for SWCHC.

· Strategically leverage the CEO and Board to meet ambitious fundraising targets.

· Support and enhance the Board's capacity to assist with fundraising goals.

· In collaboration with SWCHC's communication lead, build clear messaging and narratives that unify the various elements of SWCHC's work, with a focus on engaging potential donors, partners, volunteers, and supporters.

· Oversee the development of a case for support that aligns with SWCHC's brand, strategy, values, and key messages.

· Create donor engagement tools including proposals, presentations, stewardship reports and recognition programs to raise funds and awareness for SWCHC.
