Responsibilities

The Bilingualism Promotion Coordinator develops strategies to engage prospective students and families, promote our institution's programs, and facilitate the recruitment process for various stakeholders. The incumbent possesses excellent communication skills in both official languages, a passion for education, and the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.

Outreach and Engagement:

  • Initiate promotional strategies that reach targeted audiences in francophone and immersion schools across the province and beyond, to showcase our programs, services and student life;
  • Provide information about our institution's programs, scholarships, projects, events and initiatives to prospective francophone and immersion students and their supporters;
  • Cultivate relationships with educational counselors, community organizations, and other partners to expand recruitment efforts and reach new audiences;

Strategy Coordination:

  • Plan, coordinate, promote and execute engagement initiatives and events;
  • Elaborate promotions and advertising for targeted audiences through social media, CRM, various electronic platforms, PPT and other recruitment tools and materials;
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure seamless logistics for follow ups, engagement and onboarding;
  • Represent our institution in the implementation of those strategies;

Applicant Support:

  • Provide guidance to prospective students from enquiries emerging from initiatives, events, scholarship opportunities and materials originating from the Bureau des affaires francophones;

Multicultural Outreach:

  • Tailor engagement strategies and recruitment materials to effectively engage with diverse cultural communities seeking to study in French;
  • Collaborate with Bureau des affaires francophones and Laurentian International Office to develop culturally relevant content, including translated materials and targeted messaging;
  • Participate in multicultural events and outreach initiatives targeting francophone and Francophile students to build relationships and promote our institution's commitment to diversity and inclusion;

Campaign Tracking and Reporting:

  • Analyze data to identify participation and/or engagement rates for initiatives and events;
  • Track results at various stages to amplify voice as required and troubleshoot any potential issues;
  • Communicate tracking results to supervisor on a regular basis for finetuning opportunities;
  • Maintain accurate records of participation/engagement for individual initiatives and compare outcomes against goals; and
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field such as Education, Communications, Public Relations, or Marketing;
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in the postsecondary sector, preferably engaging directly with students; experience in advertising, promotions, event planning and project development is ideal;
  • Previous experience with student engagement and onboarding is preferred;
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to connect with individuals from diverse backgrounds;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both languages, with attention to accuracy and cultural sensitivity;
  • Organizational skills and attention to detail to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM software is desirable;
  • Flexibility to travel and work evenings or weekends as needed for engagement events and initiatives; and
  • Ability to work fluently (verbal and written) in both official languages, French and English, is required.

The official University hours of operation shall be from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, during, and including, the months from September to April, and from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m Monday through Friday during and including May to August., amounting to thirty-three and three-quarter (33.75) hours per week.
