Job Description

THE OPPORTUNITY:

Join the team at Fairmont Royal York's iconic Clockwork bar as an Assistant Manager and help us create unforgettable moments for our guests. You'll be at the forefront of our operations, ensuring flawless execution of daily tasks while driving guest satisfaction and team success. IN THIS ROLE YOU'LL GET TO:

  • Oversee Daily Operations: Supervise restaurant employees, facilities, and costs while ensuring high standards of service, quality, and cleanliness.

  • Guest & Employee Satisfaction: Continuously monitor and improve guest satisfaction (GSI) and employee satisfaction (EOS) metrics.

  • Staff Management: Handle recruitment, training, performance management, and scheduling to maintain optimal staffing levels.

  • Financial & Marketing Oversight: Manage operating costs, implement creative promotional programs, and contribute to budgeting and sales growth.

  • Health & Safety Compliance: Ensure adherence to health and safety regulations, including cleanliness inspections and WHMIS training.

  • Administrative Duties: Conduct scheduling, maintain logbooks, and track sales statistics, ensuring smooth daily operations.

  • Collaboration & Leadership: Work closely with the Clockwork Manager, Executive Restaurant Chef, and other departments to drive team success and achieve business goals.


Qualifications

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR:

  • Proven Experience: 2+ years as an Assistant Restaurant Manager, with a track record of success.

  • Leadership Excellence: Strong leadership skills to inspire and guide your team.

  • Product Knowledge: In-depth understanding of food and beverage offerings.

  • Communication Skills: Exceptional interpersonal and communication abilities; fluency in English is essential.

  • Industry Expertise: Experience in a unionized environment and familiarity with LLBO policies are a plus.

  • Certification: Smart Serve Certification is required.

Physical Aspects of Position include but are not limited to the following:

  • Constant standing and walking throughout shift

  • Frequent lifting and carrying up to 30 lbs

  • Constant kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting

  • Frequent ascending or descending ladders, stairs and ramps
