Job Description

Reporting to the People & Culture Manager, an opening has become available for a Human Resources Administrator within the HR/Payroll department. The successful candidate is a passionate HR professional with outstanding organizational and communication skills and are team-oriented, with a commitment to customer service excellence. Employee Relations

  • First point of contact for all employees inquires and requests.
  • Track all employee changes, updates and forward the required information to payroll.
  • Entering and analyzing HRIS data, ensuring accuracy of information.
  • Alerting department managers of upcoming due dates or training events
  • Maintaining confidential employee files.
  • Creating employment confirmation letters and other HR correspondence.

Recruiting & Onboarding

  • Assist Human Resources in all efforts relating to recruiting.
  • Post vacant / new positions through authorized and credible recruitment sources.
  • Pre-screen all incoming resumes, set-up interviews as required, initial telephone screening if required. Ensure all candidates provide two current reference letters.
  • Screen and conduct initial interviews and refer the best candidates to the department requiring the new employee.
  • Organize company job fairs/volume recruitment efforts to hire casual employees as needed.
  • Support New Employee Orientation training.

Employee Programs

  • Assist Human Resources in coordinating employee events, meetings and receptions, as required.
  • Process and track HR invoices.
  • Maintain employee locker assignments.
  • Maintain postings on Bulletin boards.

General Administration

  • Act as the first point of contact for clients and visitors to MTCC, both in person and over the telephone.
  • Provide a positive customer service experience by greeting visitors, responding to calls and inquiries promptly and providing updated event information.
  • Ship and receive packages in a timely and effective manner.
  • Coordinate adequate Reception relief coverage due to breaks and absences.
  • Handle all internal boardroom and Human Resources bookings in Momentus system.
  • Send out Flowers or make donations on behalf of the company to employees.
  • Maintain new hires database and ensure all required forms/quizzes are received.
  • Schedule meetings for the department as required.

Job Skills and Requirements

  • University Degree or College Diploma in Human Resources
  • Minimum 1 year of Human Resources experience in a supportive role
  • CHRP candidate or working towards designation
  • Prior HRIS experience is an asset
  • Exceptional communication and customer service skills
  • Experience in a unionized environment or in the hospitality industry would be an asset
  • Strong presentation skills and experience in conducting Orientation
  • In depth knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite with intermediate Microsoft Excel
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
  • Detailed orientated with excellent follow up skills
  • Fluency in French is an asset
