Job Description

Union: Non-Union
Site: Toronto Rehab Institute - Lyndhurst Centre
Department: Spinal Cord Rehab Program
Reports to: Allied Health Manager
Work Model: On-Site
Salary: $32.82 - $41.02 per hour (To commensurate with experience and consistent with UHN compensation policy)
Status: Temporary Full-Time ( 6 months with a possibility of extension )
Hours: 0.7 FTE
Closing Date: November 6, 2024

Duties

  • Performing comprehensive assessments of patients and plan individual and group interventions
  • Collaborating in an inter-professional environment in providing patient focused care
  • Contributing to program planning and development
  • Planning, implementing and evaluating Recreation Therapy interventions
  • Complying with, and commitment to, patient safety responsibilities and corresponding hospital plans, policies and procedures in order to ensure a safe environment for patients

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Recreation and Leisure studies with a major/emphasis in Therapeutic Recreation or Bachelor's degree in a related field (Kinesiology, Physical Education, Psychology or Health Studies).
  • Post-diploma in Therapeutic Recreation.
  • Membership in either a Provincial, National, State or International Therapeutic Recreation Professional Association.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support - Level C, Healthcare Provider.
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in the practice of Therapeutic Recreation.
  • Expertise in planning, implementation and evaluation of Therapeutic Recreation interventions.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Sound judgment and ability to work independently and in a team setting.
