Reporting to the Director, Research & Development, the successful candidate will contribute to the innovation, renovation, and cost improvement of products through leading projects, researching and develop new products, processes, and technologies.

This role is instrumental in managing our Sensory Evaluation of new and existing products using trained panels as a sensory analytical tool to discern our taste and texture descriptors. As this platform is built the individual will work with our Research &Insights team to strengthen our ability to map our key taste and texture descriptors to liking scores.

Salary Range: $57,000 - $70,000

Location of Work: Charlottetown, PE

Responsibilities

  • Sensory Evaluation Management: Building our Sensory Capabilities will be a critical tool to support future innovations and renovations & implement the new menu of Sensory tool and tests needed to support our innovation and growth strategies using the Product Lexicon
  • Pilot line operation and sample production
    • Process Management and operation on Pilot Line in addition to the daily mixing and addition of ingredients per project
    • Train to Maintain our Daily Pilot Line Project summary database and all supporting Test Formulation information for Team Members
    • This position Supported by the other members of the team in order to gain the necessary skillset to operate the equipment, mixing of ingredients and accurately capture in our Project Summaries.
  • Sales and marketing support: Supporting Customer innovation sessions, presentations and food preparations/builds
  • Sample shipping and support to internal and external customers Maintaining documentation and inventory
  • Some business travel is required

Qualifications

  • University degree or college diploma in Culinary or Food Science;
  • 5+ years' experience developing food products in an R&D environment would be preferred;
  • Ability to be a hands-on product developer;
  • Strong communication and presentation skills;
  • Excellent attention to detail;
  • Highly developed organizational and time management skills;
  • Ability to work independently and as part of the team;
