Job Summary
Reporting to the Lounge Manager, the DM is responsible for overseeing the operation of the Executive Lounge.
Your activities
- Supervise train and mentor kitchen staff
- schedule staff shifts ensuring adequate coverage during peak times
- conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback for staff development
- Food preparation and quality
- oversee food preparation and ensure consistency and quality taste and presentation of dishes
- collaborates with the consulting chefs to develop and update menu items
- ensure that all dishes are prepared according to established recipes and standards
- Inventory and supply management
- manage inventory levels including ordering and receiving supplies
- conduct regular stock checks and maintain accurate inventory records
- implement cost control measures to minimize waste and manage food costs
- Health and safety compliance
- ensure that all kitchen operations comply with local health and safety regulations
- overseas sanitation and cleanliness of the kitchen and food preparation areas
- trained staff on proper food handling and safety procedures
- Operational efficiency
- develop and implement kitchen process to improve efficiency and production
- address and resolve any operational issues or conflicts in a timely manner
- maintain kitchen equipment and coordinate repairs or replacements as needed
- Customer service
- address and resolve any customer complaints or concerns related to food quality or service
- ensured that special requests and dietary restrictions are accommodated
- Administrative duties
- maintain accurate records related to food costs labor costs and other financial aspects
- prepare and manage kitchen budgets ensuring financial targets are met
Your profile
- High School diploma or equivalent
- 3 years' experience as a maître d'hôtel or restaurant manager
- Passionate about customer service with a positive attitude and self-motivated
- A proven leader with the ability for problem-solving and people management skills
- High sense of responsibility and attention to detail. Planning and organizing skills
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) in country-specific language
- Additional languages desirable (French is required for the locations in the province of Quebec)
- Commitment to continuous improvement
- Computer literate (Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Flexible to work on various shifts (days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays)
