About the Position

Reporting to the Director, Student Programs, and Chief Legal Talent and Culture Officer, the Coordinator, Events and Engagement is responsible for the coordination of events and engagement initiatives for our legal professionals, and with respect to recruitment initiatives in our Montréal office.

This role requires a team player with strong communication skills, a positive outlook and creative thinking, who will adhere to the highest level of quality standards. The Coordinator, Events and Engagement is highly organized, detail oriented and skilled at juggling multiple projects and shifting priorities on top of their regular day-to-day responsibilities.

Primary Responsibilities

In collaboration with the Chief, Legal Talent & Culture and the Director, Student Programs, the Coordinator, Events and Engagement is principally responsible for the following:

  • Student recruitment events
    • liaising with universities' career development offices and student associations to offer a variety of events and partnerships during the academic year
    • selecting venues, drafting invitations; planning, advertising and coordinating events
    • coordinating with our internal Facilities and Hostess Services groups
  • Engagement events intended for legal professionals
    • creating calendar of events and engagement initiatives
    • selecting venues, drafting invitations, planning and coordinating events
    • coordinating with our internal Facilities and Hostess Services groups
  • Social media (Facebook and Instagram)
    • creating social media content, including regular publications and targeted campaigns
    • monitoring Davies' social media pages
  • Promotional items
    • sourcing providers
    • managing the inventory
  • Student recruitment process, including the Course aux Stages
    • planning and coordinating the interview process
    • liaising with internal interview team and student recruitment committee
  • Other responsibilities
    • supporting new initiatives at the direction of the Director, Student Programs and/or Chief Legal Talent & Culture Officer
    • tracking budget and compiling data with respect to all of the above, in collaboration with the department's Administrative Coordinator.

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate university degree (preferred)
  • Experience in event planning or event coordination
  • Experience in a professional services firm or other similar role an asset
  • Excellent organization and time management skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English and French *Our Montréal office represents and provides services in Québec to both clients established in Québec and clients doing business in Québec. As the successful applicant will have to interact and produce content in French and English, verbal and written proficiency in both languages is required.

  • Demonstrated ability to juggle multiple priorities efficiently
  • Deep understanding of client service principles
  • Demonstrated resilience and ability to learn and grow in a fast-paced environment
  • Self-starter and team player
  • Familiarity with the Microsoft suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.)
  • Familiarity with social media platforms, including Instagram and Facebook
